Danny Rose will be staying with Newcastle United until the end of the season after extending his loan deal (as per Sky Sports). The 29-year-old joined the Magpies on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January and the initial deal was due to expire at the end of June.
However, due to the global pandemic, the season has spilt over into the summer months meaning the two clubs have had to agree on an extension in order to ensure Steve Bruce has the left-back available to him for the remainder of the campaign.
Following the news an agreement has been reached, here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded:
As long as we get @JetroWillems_15 permanently at end of the season I’m OK with this

Don’t like him, don’t want him.
Overweight and a bad influence on team morale.

Do you think Newcastle have made the correct decision?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses, that most of these Magpies fans would have been happy to see Rose return to London. Since joining Steve Bruce’s side, he’s made six appearances for the club but based on the replies, he doesn’t appear to have made much of a positive impression on the Newcastle faithful. Fans continued to share their views on the update.
I mean it isn’t ideal but we don’t have another left back registered so it’s necessary

@JetroWillems_15 would be preferable. Rose overweight and no good for team moral.

One fan was keen to point out that with Jetro Willems having been ruled out for the rest of the season, the Toon have very limited options at left-back. The Spurs defender clearly isn’t a popular figure at St. James’ Park but given the position the club currently find themselves in, to us, it doesn’t seem as though they’ve had much choice.
