Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding the latest in the club’s ongoing takeover deal.

According to Chronicle Live: “Newcastle United’s future is in the hands of the Premier League but in reality, the button that will result in the green light being signalled can only be pressed by one man.”

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

The man in question is Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, and while it has been reported that the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test is in its final stages – which would indicate that it should not be long before the deal either receives approval or rejection – Masters is still yet to make a final call on the takeover.

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by The Chronicle on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that Masters is out of his depth, while others have apparently doubted whether or not the takeover deal actually exists.

It has understandably been a frustrating time to be a Newcastle fan of late, with several reports suggesting that the takeover deal has been close to completion, followed by many more weeks of silence.

That has not been helped by the lack of communication from both the Premier League and the club on the takeover deal, with fans left in the dark about the progression of negotiations.

And, it would seem that many of these Newcastle fans are growing extremely tired of all of the rumours, as well as the lack of action from the Premier League and Masters.

Although it is extremely understandable as to why Newcastle fans are growing tired of all the takeover talk and apparent lack of progression, unfortunately for fans of the club, there is not much else they can do than simply wait for Masters to make up his mind on the matter.
