A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Allan Saint-Maximin after one fan took a picture of the Frenchman’s Instagram story that showed Saint-Maximin with his kid in his Toon strip.

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

This led to the fan claiming that the 23-year-old was falling in love with Newcastle, and Saint-Maximin responded by claiming that he does love the Toon.

This led to a lot of praise for Saint-Maximin with one fan claiming he would cry if the Frenchman ever left the Toon.

Since signing from Nice last summer for £16.5m, Saint-Maximin has become a favourite amongst the Toon’s fanbase because of his ability on the pitch and his social media interactions.

Do you believe Saint-Maximin loves Newcastle?

The 23-year-old appears to have mastered Twitter, and many of his GIFs or posts get hundreds of replies from fans who enjoy his content off the field – a quick look through his timeline will reveal this.

On the pitch, the Frenchman is an audacious player who is full of tricks and skill but could add more end product to his game.

In 18 appearances in the league this season, Saint-Maximin has provided two goals and one assist, but an average rating of 7.18 proves that he has performed well for Newcastle without the end product to match.

This, though, has not stopped these Toon fans loving the Frenchman.

Newcastle’s last win before this enforced break came thanks to a winner from Saint-Maximin who showed incredible pace to snatch the ball from Yan Valery and toe-poke an effort into the far corner. (2:34)

That win moved the Toon onto 35 points, eight clear of the relegation zone, which means with nine games remaining it looks likely that Newcastle will be safe from relegation come the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see how the 23-year-old approaches the Premier League’s return, considering it will be played behind closed doors.

Will he become even more creative, or will he not perform as well without an audience? After all, he is, by his own admission, someone who likes to entertain fans.
