A group of Newcastle United supporters have been discussing Valentino Lazaro after the club shared some footage of him scoring a volley in training via their official Twitter account. The 24-year-old is currently on loan at St. James’ Park from Inter and Steve Bruce’s side have an option to buy the player (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) at the end of this current campaign.

Lazaro, who is comfortable playing in pretty much any position down the right flank, has made just five appearances for the Toon so far. An Austrian international, he is currently valued at £13.5m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk and has previously represented Red Bull Salzburg and Hertha Berlin as well as the Nerazzurri.

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

Here is how some of the club’s fans have responded to the footage via the social media platform.

Despite Lazaro’s acrobatic finish, it appears the supporters are far more interested in the progress of the proposed takeover. There has still been no official announcement confirming that the Saudi-backed consortium has passed the Premier League’s checks and it was evident from these replies just how impatient some of the club’s fans have grown.

Meanwhile, this fan wanted to voice his views regarding the way they are being treated in regards to their season tickets.

Elsewhere, one fan mentioned the Sports Direct signs on show in the video.

Patience is wearing thin in the North East and we dread to think about the backlash that could await if the Premier League were to block the takeover of the club. Whilst we cannot say with any degree of certainty things are heading that way, we can understand why some have grown frustrated by the delays.
