According to recent reports in The Sun, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea target Jadon Sancho has stated that he could be open to a sensational return to his former club.

According to the reports, Sancho has told friends that he would be open to a move to Manchester City – the club he left to join Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £7.05m back in 2017 – should Pep Guardiola’s side show an interest in him.

This comes following reports that suggested the winger’s proposed move to Manchester United has stalled, after the club became unsettled by the £115m price tag that Dortmund had put on the 20-year-old.

However, the reports in The Sun go on to state that, upon Sancho’s sale in 2017, City included a clause in the deal to match any future bids that came in for the England international, although, it is reported that they currently have no plans to do so.

TIF Thoughts…

Since joining Dortmund, Sancho has gone on to establish himself as one of the most exciting talents in European football, scoring a remarkable 34 goals and providing 43 assists in just 96 appearances for Die Borussen.

The 20-year-old has been in spectacular form once again this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 16 assists over his 29 Bundesliga appearances, averaging an extremely impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.79, ranking him as Dortmund’s best player so far this term.

As such, despite a reported price tag of £115m – not vastly higher than Transfermarkt’s £105.3m valuation of the player – it would seem as if Sancho would be an excellent addition to Manchester City’s side, particularly if Bayern Munich are successful in their attempts to sign City winger Leroy Sane.
