Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of City’s interest in Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto.

According to recent reports in Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, City would be interested in bringing the 28-year-old to the club this summer, something which Pep Guardiola has reportedly approved; however, Barca would only be willing to accept cash for the player, as opposed to a swap deal.

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that the would not like to see their club make a move for the player.

Having played at Barcelona for the entirety of his professional career, Roberto has made 273 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and providing 34 assists, helping his side to win a remarkable six La Liga titles, as well as two Champions Leagues and a plethora of other domestic and international competitions.

He is also capable of playing in numerous positions around the pitch, including right-back, central midfield and right midfield, and has even filled in at centre-back for Barcelona this season.

However, despite this versatility, it appears that many more of the City fans would not like Roberto to join their club this summer.

So far this season, Roberto has scored one goal and provided two assists over his 22 La Liga appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.79/10.

However, in the Champions League, over his four appearances, the 28-year-old’s match rating is a rather disappointing 6.47.

As such, it is not surprising to see that many of these City fans would rather their club avoid Roberto this summer.
