Many Liverpool fans have been responding to the news that James Norris has signed his first professional contract with the club. The Anfield giants announced the update regarding the 17-year-old via their official website on Tuesday.
Norris initially joined the Merseyside club at Under-9 level and has progressed through the ranks. Having begun the season with Liverpool’s Under-18s, the Derby-born defender has started for the Under-23s and even made his debut for the first team at Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup earlier this season (as per liverpoolfc.com).

Whilst these supporters clearly hold Norris in high regard and were pleased to learn of the news, others were more focused on the club’s reported interest in Timo Werner and appear to have been hoping for an announcement regarding the German striker, instead.

It is clear that many of these Liverpool fans are desperate to see the 24-year-old arrive on Merseyside. However, there is still no news in regards to whether or not the deal will happen. Werner has scored 25 goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances, and therefore, you can understand why so many would love to see him at Anfield. However, with the Premier League set to resume from 17th June, the focus should now be on wrapping up the club’s first league title since the 1989/90 season.
