The 19-year-old, who is currently valued at £40.5 million according to Transfermarkt, signed to the Spanish club back in the 2018 summer transfer window for that exact fee (per Transfermarkt).

Since then, the 19-year-old has gone on to make 59 appearances for Zinedine Zidane’s side, in which he has managed to score seven goals and provide 15 assists along the way.

This season, in particular, has seen the winger make 28 appearances for Madrid in which he has scored four goals and provided three assists across all competitions.

His 19 appearances in La Liga have resulted in Vinicius being awarded a season rating of 6.69/10, making him the 19th-highest-rated player in the Madrid squad so far in this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

The fact that Madrid were reportedly quick to shoot down Liverpool’s approach for Vinicius just goes to show how much confidence they have in him becoming an important figure for the team in the future.

This means that Liverpool will have to forget about trying to sign the Brazilian anytime soon.
