Liverpool are reportedly interested in making a summer transfer move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

This comes after a report from The Independent claimed that Liverpool are “monitoring” Sancho’s situation at the German club and “may yet challenge” Manchester United and Real Madrid for his signature, in what could be “one of the year’s biggest transfer sagas”.

They also stated:

“There is also a feeling that if Jurgen Klopp does want the player that badly, funds will be found.”

The report added that Sancho, who is currently valued at £105.3 million according to Transfermarkt, has “been made aware” of this interest from the Merseyside club.

The former Manchester City youngster joined the German club back in 2017 for a fee of £7.05 million, according to Transfermarkt.

Should Liverpool sign Jadon Sancho this summer?

Since then, Sancho has gone on to make 94 appearances for Dortmund, in which he has managed to score 34 goals and provide 43 assists.

The current season has seen Sancho in fine form for Dortmund, having scored 20 goals and provided 20 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions (as per Transfermarkt).

Sancho’s performances in his 27 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund this season has resulted in the 20-year-old being given a season rating of 7.83/10, which makes him Dortmund’s top performer in this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

The fact that these three huge football clubs are all reportedly interested in signing Sancho this summer just goes to show how impressive the Englishman has been this season.

According to WhoScored, Sancho’s strengths include his passing, dribbling and finishing. This would suit Liverpool’s style of play as some of their characteristics include finishing scoring chances, playing short passes and attacking down the wings (per WhoScored).

Whether or not the Merseyside club does indeed make a transfer move for Sancho this summer is still yet to be seen.
