Before this suspension, Jurgen Klopp’s side were flying at the top of the Premier League table having won 27 out of the 29 Premier League matches (per BBC Sport).

In a recent statement from the Premier League, they released the news that the one person who tested positive will now “self-isolate for a period of seven days”.

The statement also revealed the results from previous rounds of testing that began last month.

Last week, the Premier League revealed that the current season will resume once again later this month as long as “all safety requirements are met”.

Now that Pearce has relayed the news of the latest results, this sparked a big reaction from Liverpool fans on Twitter.

While it’s unfortunate that there is still one person that tested positive, the overall result from this recent round of testing is a huge step forward towards the season being resumed safely.

With the Reds within touching distance of the Premier League title, it’s understandable why so many of these Liverpool fans would be itching to get the season underway.
