In a recent article he wrote for The Athletic, Pearce revealed that Real Madrid “rolled out the red carpet” to try and convince Elliott to sign.

Pearce also revealed that there was “a tour of the Bernabeu” and that the winger was asked if he would like to meet Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. Elliott then reportedly turned down this offer saying that he doesn’t like Ramos “after what he did to Mo Salah”.

The issue Elliott was reportedly referring to was how Ramos caused Salah to dislocate his shoulder during the Spanish side’s 3-1 Champions League final victory against the Reds back in 2018.

This post then grabbed the attention of a lot of Liverpool fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest news from Pearce.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

Elliott signed to the Merseyside club back in July 2019 from London club Fulham (per Transfermarkt).

Since then, the 17-year-old has gone on to make 27 appearances for the Reds across all competitions at youth and senior levels, during which he has managed to score four goals and provide nine assists (per Transfermarkt).

Now that Pearce has shared this information on Elliott and how he turned down the chance to meet Ramos because of his incident with Salah back in 2018, this news delighted a lot of Liverpool fans who were quick to share their praise for the winger.

It appears that these Liverpool fans were over the moon that Elliott turned down his chance to meet Ramos in an act of unity with Salah.

This seems to have impressed a lot of Liverpool fans who might now have a lot more respect and admiration for the young winger.

This group of Liverpool fans will maybe now be hoping to see Elliott become a much more prevalent figure in Jurgen Klopp’s squad next season and onwards.
