Pearce also added that the club’s new deal with Nike will be pushed back two months and begin officially at the start of August.

He ended his tweet revealing that Liverpool club staff are “preparing for a big launch that week”.

This post then quickly gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their reactions to this latest news from Pearce.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to Pearce’s latest post:

Earlier in the season, the Merseyside club announced that they had struck a multi-year deal with Nike to take over from New Balance as the club’s main kit manufacturer.

The announcement first claimed that this deal would start on the first of June, but since the current Premier League season has been temporarily suspended due to the current global pandemic and will be resuming later this month, this has led to Nike having to push back the start date of their deal with the Reds until August.

Now that Pearce has come out and revealed this latest news on the Nike deal, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter with many Liverpool fans sharing their thoughts on the matter.

One Liverpool fan even suggested that this new launch will involve RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner being unveiled in the new kit as a Reds player.

It’s good that New Balance will be able to see out their deal with the Reds before Nike take over for next season and onwards.

Pearce’s claims of a big launch to bring in this new deal certainly seems to have excited a lot of Liverpool fans, with plenty now looking forward to August.
