Liverpool have been linked with signing Internazionale striker Lautaro Martinez this summer.

This comes after Marca claimed that Liverpool are ‘in a position to take a player like Lautaro’ after reportedly missing out on Timo Werner.

That would suggest that it is possible the Reds will join the race to sign the striker alongside Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Another report from Marca claims that financial difficulties at Barcelona due to the impact of the current global pandemic could scupper any potential transfer deal for Martinez, thus allowing the likes of Madrid, United and Liverpool to swoop in for the striker.

Martinez first signed to the Italian club back in 2018 from Racing Club for a fee of £22.5 million (per Transfermarkt).

Since then, the striker has managed to score 25 goals in 66 total appearances for Antonio Conte’s side (per Transfermarkt).

The 22-year-old, who is currently valued at £57.6 million according to Transfermarkt, has been in great form this season.
