Former Leicester City attacker Gary Taylor-Fletcher recently appeared on The Athletic’s ‘Going Up, Going Down’ podcast where he was full of praise for 33-year-old Foxes striker Jamie Vardy.

Taylor-Fletcher shared his admiration for Vardy’s “desire to play and improve” which he described as being “unbelievable”. Furthermore, the 39-year-old ex-Foxes man went on to declare that while he felt that Vardy would ultimately “do something special” in his career, he has been surprised by the level that the 33-year-old striker has got to.

As per the Premier League’s official website, Vardy has scored a total of 99 goals in the English top flight so far in his career which is more than all but 28 other players have scored in the history of the Premier League.

TIF Thoughts…

Considering that Vardy, who is currently valued at £14.4m according to Transfermarkt, has been enjoying an impressive season in England’s top-flight, it may be understandable why Taylor-Fletcher took the opportunity to share praise for the attacker during his appearance on ‘Going Up, Going Down’.

Furthermore, the fact that Vardy is currently the Premier League’s top goalscorer might give weight to Taylor-Fletcher’s claim that Vardy is “fitter now than he was” in the past, despite being 33 years old.
