Morgan Schneiderlin is reportedly keen on leaving Everton in the next transfer window and moving to Ligue 1 club OGC Nice.

According to L’Equipe, as cited by Sport Witness, the French club is interested in recruiting the former Manchester United midfielder over the summer.

This is so that Nice can couple youthful signings in the upcoming window with more experienced players.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

Supposedly, the Ligue 1 outfit has been in contact with the player and the initial feedback from Schneiderlin has suggested that he is keen on the move.

As stated in the report, a return to his homeland suits the 30-year-old defensive midfielder and he has not hidden his ‘enthusiasm’ for the transfer.

Schneiderlin currently has one season remaining on his contract with the Toffees after the conclusion of this term and has a market value of £8.55 million (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

With Nice reportedly wanting the player, Schneiderlin happy to go and the Frenchman having delivered a poor average rating for the Toffees this season; perhaps the move suits all parties.

Over 15 Premier League appearances for Everton this season, Schneiderlin has delivered a weak 6.42/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

The rating has left the 30-year-old midfielder as the eighth-worst performer to play for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the league this term.

If a bid of £8million arrived for Morgan Schneiderlin, would you want it accepted?

No, he's a solid player

However, a deeper delve into his statistics may suggest that Schneiderlin’s average rating is not reflective of his abilities.

In Everton’s squad, the Frenchman has made the fourth-most tackles (2.1) and the second-most interceptions (1.4) per league game on average.

Furthermore, with 86.1% passing success this season, the 30-year-old is the fourth-most successful passer in the squad. So, any decision to sell the midfielder may not be cut and dry.
