Everton have reportedly ‘taken information’ about Roma’s Turkish winger Cengiz Under ahead of a possible swoop for the player.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Sport Witness, the Toffees have scoped out the potential signing of the 22-year-old attacker.

As stated in the report, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have also ‘taken information’ about Under following their own interests in signing the player.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

The article goes on to reveal that Roma would not be willing to sell the Turkish international for anything ‘less than €30m‘ (£26.7m).

It is also believed that Roma would like to sell Justin Kluivert alongside Under for a combined fee of somewhere in the region of €70m (£62.3m) to help the club’s finances.

TIF Thoughts…

With the 22-year-old attacker having three seasons left on his contract after the conclusion of this term and a market value of £21.6m (per Transfermarkt), €30m (£26.7m) does not seem too over-the-odds.

A strong 6.96/10 average rating across 15 Serie A appearances this season, which has made Under Roma’s seventh-best performer (per WhoScored), may also suggest that he is worth the fee.

If the Turkish winger was to replicate the same average rating for the Toffees in the Premier League, he would be the side’s fourth-best performer this season (per WhoScored).

Do you think signing Cengiz Under for €30million (£26.7m) would be a shrewd move?

Yes, would be a great idea

No, he's not good enough

Furthermore, right-wing is a position in which the Toffees are currently lacking in, due to the fact that Theo Walcott is the only out-and-out right-winger in their squad (per Transfermarkt).

So, due to the fact that he would not arrive at Goodison Park at an unreasonable price and would fill a gap in the Toffees’ squad, Under could prove to be a good signing if Carlo Ancelotti manages to recruit him.
