Spanish publication La Razon recently published a report which links Everton with a summer move for Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca.

As explained in this report from La Razon, Espanyol could be relegated at the end of the 2019/20 campaign. The club currently sit at the bottom of La Liga, six points from safety at present.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

This report claims that if Espanyol are relegated from Spain’s top tier at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, the midfielder could be sold for a lower price than his €40m (£35.8m) release clause. The 23-year-old Spaniard had been linked with a move to Bayern Munich last summer, however, his release clause was said to have made “negotiations difficult”, as reported by Marca

According to WhoScored, Roca has made an average of 2.4 tackles per game in La Liga this term, whilst he has also played an average of 48.6 passes per league game in addition to 4.4 accurate long balls per league game.

Only one Everton player has made a higher number of tackles per game in the Premier League than the Spaniard has made in La Liga this season, whilst only two Toffees players have played a higher number of passes per game than Roca has played on average in the league this term. Additionally, Jordan Pickford is the only Everton player to complete a higher number of long balls per game in the Premier League than Roca has completed in La Liga this season.

With that in mind, it may be understandable why the Toffees may see Roca as a player that could improve their squad.

Would Roca be a good signing for the Toffees?

TIF Thoughts…

Everton aren’t the only club who are showing an interest in Roca at present according to La Razon’s report, as this article also links Arsenal and Real Madrid with a move for the midfielder. This report also shares that AC Milan-focused publication MilanNews has also linked La Rossoneri with a move for the 23-year-old recently.

With that in mind, it appears as though the Toffees would face plenty of competition for Roca should they make a move for him this summer and it mightn’t be an easy deal for Carlo Ancelotti’s side to complete.
