Fans of Everton have been reacting to a transfer link which has arisen between the Toffees and Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama.
According to Africa Top Sports, as cited by Sport Witness, the Congolese centre-back has ‘seduced‘ Carlo Ancelotti into wanting to sign him.
The report goes on to state that the Toffees now want to recruit the 26-year-old Super Lig player ‘at any cost‘.
It is also revealed in the report that the player’s Turkish club will be asking for €15 million (£13.4m) if any deal between the two sides is to be reached.
Ancelotti’s outfit is not the only admirer of Luyindama, though, as Aston Villa and West Ham United are both on the ‘lookout‘ for the player.
The report from Africa Top Sports was not their first on the interest between the club and the Congolese defender as they first touted the Toffees’ interest on 23rd May.
After the report was shared to Everton fans on social media (via @ToffeeTVEFC), supporters aired their reactions to the supposed transfer interest.

We will have a squad of about 400 if all these are true

Luyindama has been a solid player for his club in the league this season, with a 6.96 making him the ninth-best performer for Galatasaray in the Super Lig (per WhoScored).
Would Christian Luyindama be a good signing for the Toffees?Yes, we should sign himNo, he's not good enough |
Can’t see that

Have we ever had any luck with players signed from Turkey…..

After a further delve into the centre-back’s stats, it would seem that the 26-year-old is capable if a little uninspiring.
This season, Luyindama has made the joint-fifth most tackles (1.7) and the fifth-most interceptions (1.2) in Galatasaray’s squad per league game (per WhoScored).
Compare these with Yerry Mina’s 1.5 tackles and 1.0 interceptions per Premier League game on average (per WhoScored), though, and perhaps Luyindama’s stats look a little more impressive.
Can’t see this one happening. He had knee surgery in December aswell.

Dude is a stud and 15M is a bargain

As can be seen in these responses from Everton supporters, they are divided over whether the Congolese defender would be a good purchase or not.
