Supporters of Everton have been reacting to a report on the upcoming clash between the Toffees and Liverpool.

According to the Daily Mirror, Premier League clubs will be voting this Thursday to outline plans which may see the Merseyside derby played at a neutral venue away from Goodison Park.

The issue has arisen over fears that Liverpool fans may congregate outside of grounds prior to games in which the Reds could win the league due to fixtures being behind closed doors.

If Manchester City slip up against Arsenal in their first game back, the Reds will be able to secure the title when they face the Toffees.

It has therefore been suggested by the police that selected high profile matches are played at neutral venues.

The report went on to state that it has even been suggested that Jurgen Klopp’s outfit should play all of their games outside of Merseyside until they have won the title and ‘excitement dies down’ (per the Mirror).

So, after the report on the prospect of the Merseyside derby being played away from Goodison Park was shared to Everton fans on Twitter (via @EvertonNewsFeed), supporters aired their fury.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

The Toffees currently sit 12th on the Premier League table on 37 points while the Reds have a 25-point lead over City at the top of the table on 82 points (per BBC).

The original date for the Merseyside derby was set to take place at Goodison Park on Monday 16th March, with the Toffees having just suffered a 4-0 defeat to Chelsea (per BBC).

However, the fixture was then postponed as football in the UK was suspended due to the current viral outbreak (per BBC).

Some supporters were less bothered about the proposed vote on the matter than other fans were, though.

As can be seen in the majority of these responses from the Goodison Park faithful, they were left furious by the Mirror’s report on the Merseyside derby.
