Supporters of Everton have been discussing the Toffees’ loanee defender Jonjoe Kenny after Patrick Boyland posted to Twitter about the Englishman.

On Monday, the Athletic reporter relayed a post to social media in which he discussed the latest on the man currently on loan with Schalke 04.

In the post, Boyland reveals that a decision on the future of the 23-year-old has not yet been made at Goodison Park as it is “far too early”, according to one of their sources (per The Athletic).

Despite no decision being made on the defender, the Athletic revealed that Marcel Brands has been making personal checks on Kenny and the scouting team have been tracking his progress.

Boyland’s article also reveals that the Bundesliga outfit would like to keep him, however, that would preferably be on another loan deal.

Kenny’s stay in Germany is set to expire at the end of June and will coincide with the planned end of the Bundesliga season.

So, after the Athletic journalist relayed his article to social media, the Goodison Park faithful aired their thoughts on the English defender.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

During his season so far in the Bundesliga, while Kenny has been hailed as an “outstanding talent“, his 6.5/10 average rating has only made him the 13th-best performer for Schalke in the league (per WhoScored).

Should Jonjoje Kenny be given a first-team opportunity with the Toffees next season?

No, not good enough

Yes, he deserves one

While Boyland’s tweet also paid homage to Kenny having the third-most progressive passes in the Bundesliga this season, his defensive statistics seem a little more damning.

Over his 27 league outings, the English defender has made only the joint-seventh most tackles (1.6) and only the 11th-highest number of interceptions (0.9) per game in Schalke’s squad (per WhoScored).

While the majority of fans were negative, one supporter was a little more complimentary towards the 23-year-old Everton loanee.

However, as can be seen in the majority of responses from Everton supporters, many fans believe that Kenny is just not good enough for the Toffees.
