Crystal Palace are “still keen” on signing West Bromwich Albion defender Nathan Ferguson this summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

This comes after Nixon shared a post on his Twitter page responding to a Palace fan who asked him if there was any relevant news surrounding the club that they should be aware of.

Nixon then claimed that the club are interested in Ferguson before adding that they are “waiting on a couple of targets getting more sensible prices.”

Ferguson, who is valued at £3.6 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park in the past, but currently remains a West Brom player.

The 19-year-old worked his way up through the youth system at the Baggies before making his debut season for the first-team this year (per Transfermarkt).

This season has seen the defender make 21 appearances for Slaven Bilic’s side so far, with 12 appearances seeing him play in the left-back position and the other nine coming with him playing in the right-back position, which just goes to show how versatile Ferguson is (per Transfermarkt).

Ferguson’s performances in these Championship appearances have resulted in the Englishman being awarded a season rating of 6.85/10, making him the ninth highest-rated player in the Baggies’ squad this season (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Given how Ferguson managed to deliver some impressive performances for West Brom this season and showcase his ability in two different positions, it’s understandable why a Premier League side like Palace would be interested in signing the teenage defender.
