Fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding the club’s Premier League fixture against Bournemouth.
According to recent reports in the Telegraph, the BBC’s first-ever live Premier League match is likely to be Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace, with the broadcast being scheduled for a Saturday night primetime slot at 7.45pm on June 20.
According to Sport Business, the reason for the BBC being awarded their first live top-flight games since the 1987/88 season is due to the government being keen for the remaining Premier League fixtures to be available to as wide an audience as possible, given that all 92 fixtures will be played behind closed doors due to the current viral outbreak.
In reaction to the news, which was relayed by Palace Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many commenting on the fact that their club was also the first to be broadcast on Amazon Prime earlier in the season.

Palace have endured a solid season in the Premier League so far this term, with the club winning 10, drawing nine and losing 10 of their league fixtures, leaving them in 11th place in the table, 12 points above the relegation zone and just six off Manchester United in fifth place.
Do you think Palace can qualify for Europe this season?
Yes
No
The reverse of the Bournemouth fixture was also an exciting match, with Palace going down to 10 men after Mamadou Sakho was sent off for a high challenge on Adam Smith early in the first half, before Jeffrey Schlupp struck in the 76th minute to secure all three points for the South London side.
With the news that their club looks set to be involved in the first Premier League match that is televised live on the BBC, some Palace fans have commented on the historical significance of the fixture, with others pondering about the potential viewing figures for the match.

While it is likely that many of these Palace fans were excited to watch their team back in action following the unexpected break from the football season anyway, now it would seem that they have a further reason to look forward to the return of football.
