Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis is attracting a lot of attention from Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin.

This comes after Yalcin told Turkish newspaper Turkiye (via Sport Witness) that Davis is like a “young Emmanuel Adebayor”.

It was also reported that Yalcin has been watching videos of Davis for the past couple of weeks, resulting in the manager becoming very interested in signing the striker.

Who scored Villa's goal in their 1-0 win against Stoke City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season?

The report also added that Besiktas officials will now begin their operation to convince Davis to make the move to the Turkish club.

The Englishman first joined the club back in December 2015 from Biggleswade Town on a free transfer to Villa’s U18 squad (per Transfermarkt).

The striker made his senior debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup in January 2017 and he went on to score his first Villa goal against Barnsley later that year. He made 28 league appearances to help Villa to reach the Championship Play-Off Final in the 2017/18 campaign, but he has struggled with injury issues since then (per AVFC).

Should Villa keep or sell Keinan Davis this summer?

This season has seen the 22-year-old make just eight appearances for Dean Smith’s side in the Premier League, with all of them seeing Davis come off the substitutes bench, resulting in him playing just 129 minutes of action so far this season (per WhoScored).

Davis’ performances in these eight Premier League cameos have resulted in the striker being awarded a season rating of 6.18/10, making him the seventh-lowest rated player in the Villa squad so far in this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

It seems as though Davis hasn’t been a crucial figure for Villa so far this season.

If Besiktas are interested in signing the forward and are able to offer him some regular playing minutes on a consistent basis, this could be a good move for the forward.
