An interview with West Brom captain Jake Livermore was recently posted on the Baggies’ official YouTube channel as the 30-year-old midfielder provided an update on the current fitness levels and attitude of West Brom’s squad ahead of their return to match action.

Livermore conducted this interview ahead of the Championship’s resumption this weekend. The Baggies are set to compete in their first league fixture since their goalless draw against Swansea City in March when they meet Birmingham City this Saturday.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

The 30-year-old midfielder said: “The boys have come back raring to go. We’ve all got the same goal and that hasn’t changed since the Swansea game, so the boys look great at the minute.

“We’ve got a few injuries back as well, which is almost like a new signing for us, a couple of those. So, the boys are in good shape, I think.”

Are you excited to see Diangana back on the pitch for the Baggies?

TIF Thoughts…

Birmingham Live recently published an article which revealed that Grady Diangana and Ahmed Hegazi, both of whom had been unavailable for the Baggies prior to the 2019/20 Championship season being suspended back in March, have now recovered from their injuries and have been back in training with West Brom’s squad to prepare for the resumption of the season.

Hegazi has made just 10 league appearances for the club this season, having missed some games at the beginning of the campaign due to injury, as well as suffering another setback in the Baggies’ penultimate game before the league’s postponement, which was a 1-0 loss to Wigan Athletic. With that in mind, a return to full fitness for him may well provide a boost for West Brom.

Meanwhile, Diangana, who has impressively scored five goals and provided five assists in his 21 Championship appearances this term, had been out of action for nine straight games prior to the Championship’s postponement after suffering an injury in the Baggies’ 1-0 loss to Stoke City on 20th January

With that in mind, the return of these two players might add some healthy competition for places to West Brom’s squad and it may be understandable why Livermore has claimed that players returning from injury feel like new signings for the squad.
