Leeds Live recently published an article which shares some comments from Birmingham Live journalist Joseph Chapman, who has provided an update on the fitness of the Baggies’ squad ahead of the resumption of the 2019/20 Championship season on the weekend of 20th June.

The Birmingham Live journalist relays some positive information for Baggies fans with regards to the health of their squad. He states that “things are looking very healthy for Slaven Bilic in terms of personnel” at present.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

This report quotes Chapman as saying that “the unforeseen break between matches has worked in Albion’s favour when it comes to the injury front”. As per Leeds Live, Chapman goes on to reveal that Ahmed Hegazi and Grady Diangana, both of whom had been struggling with an injury prior to the Championship’s postponement back in March, are “in full training” at present as the Baggies prepare to get back to action in England’s second tier, with only Nathan Ferguson and Jonathan Leko set to be unavailable for Bilic’s side once the Championship resumes.

Will Ahmed Hegazi start for West Brom when the Championship restarts?

TIF Thoughts…

Hegazi has only played in 10 of the Baggies’ 37 Championship games so far this season, however, the Egyptian international started three league fixtures in a row at the end of February before being forced off the pitch in the first half of the third of those games – a 1-0 loss to Wigan Athletic

West Brom only played one more league game since then prior to the Championship’s suspension and with that in mind, the break may have come at a good time for Hegazi, who may hope to pick up where he left off prior to his injury without losing too much of the momentum he had built up.

Meanwhile, it may be fair to say that Diangana has been one of West Brom’s most impressive players this season. The 22-year-old has earned an average overall rating of 7.15/10 from his 21 league appearances this term, according to WhoScored, which makes the winger the fourth-highest-rated West Brom player in the Championship this season.

With all of this in mind, Baggies fans may be pleased by Chapman’s fitness update regarding these two players.
