Yorkshire Live recently published an article which shares the news that 19-year-old Josh Render has committed his future to the Owls by signing a contract extension.

This article from Yorkshire Live states that his agents, Red6 Sports Management, originally shared this news via a tweet, in which they congratulate the young goalkeeper on his new deal with the Owls. Yorkshire Live also states that they anticipate Render will likely continue to play with the Owls’ U23s after signing this deal.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

As per Wednesday’s official website, which describes the 19-year-old as being a goalkeeper with “excellent shot-stopping ability and good distribution skills”, Render has been a member of the club since U13 level and with that in mind, it may not come as a big surprise that the teenager has agreed to extend his stay with the club.

TIF Thoughts…

As per WhoScored, the Owls haven’t been particularly impressive in the goalkeeping department during the 2019/20 campaign. Keiren Westwood, who started 14 of the club’s 37 league games this term, has earned an average overall match rating of 6.41/10 for his performances in the league this season, which is a lower average overall rating than 21 other Owls players in the Championship this term.

Meanwhile, Cameron Dawson, who has started Wednesday’s remaining 23 games during the 2019/20 campaign, has earned an average overall rating of just 6.24 according to WhoScored, which gives him the third-lowest average across the entire Owls squad in the second tier.

With that in mind, it may be fair to say that the goalkeeping position in Wednesday’s first team could do with an upgrade at present, and Render may give the club’s fans some hope for the future in this department.
