Birmingham City have enquired about the availability of Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng, according to We Are Birmingham. The 25-year-old has been out on loan at Doncaster Rovers in League One this season and his performances there appear to have impressed the Midlands club.

Dieng made 27 league appearances for the South Yorkshire-based club this season, conceding 26 goals and keeping nine clean sheets (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). According to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating for this season measures at a very respectable 6.8/10 as he helped the club to a ninth-placed finish.

The Blues have also been linked with bringing in Wes Foderingham from Rangers in recent months (as per Birmingham Live). The 29-year-old was limited to just two appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) but is now a free agent.

Dieng still has a year remaining on his contract with QPR, and therefore the Blues would need to pay a transfer fee in order to bring him to St. Andrew’s.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Dieng is valued at £225k despite having never appeared in a Championship fixture.

TIF Thoughts…

It was recently announced that manager Pep Clotet would leave Birmingham City at the end of the season to ‘explore other coaching opportunities’ and Nigel Clough is said to have held preliminary talks with the club in regards to possibly taking over (via Sky Sports).

Due to the uncertainty around the managerial position at the club, it is difficult to know whether or not the transfer rumours are accurate.
