Some Sunderland fans have been reacting to a report that has been shared by both @FBL72 and @EFLTheOther72 on Twitter discussing the alleged news that the Black Cats are interested in re-signing their former striker Mikael Mandron.

Mandron originally moved to Sunderland back in 2011, joining the Black Cats’ youth ranks from French side AC Boulogne-Billancourt. However, Mandron only made three appearances for Sunderland’s first team in his career. He was sent on loan on three separate occasions before eventually leaving the club on a free transfer to join Eastleigh in 2016

However, ‘The 72’ has recently shared some news that originally surfaced via Football Insider, which claims that the Black Cats are currently pursuing Mandron’s signature, with the French attacker set to become a free agent this summer.

Some Sunderland fans have been reacting to this alleged news negatively, indicating that they wouldn’t like to see Mandron return to the club. Read the reactions of some Black Cats fans to this report in the tweets below.

What do we think?

Mandron has scored five goals in his 23 League One games for Gillingham this season. It may be fair to say that the attacker hasn’t been incredibly prolific this term and it may not come as a surprise that these Sunderland fans weren’t overly thrilled by the reports linking their club with a move for the player, who is currently valued at £90k according to Transfermarkt.
