James Copley caught the attention of many Sunderland fans recently after he posted a tweet relaying some news that was recently shared by Sky Sports News on Twitter regarding the future of Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze.

Sky Sports News recently reported that Mario Gotze is set to depart from Borussia Dortmund this summer once his contract expires, as confirmed by the club’s sporting director Michael Zorc, who recently spoke with Sky Germany to confirm the news.

Copley shared this news via a tweet of his own in which he stated that he’d take Gotze at The Stadium of Light and plenty of Sunderland fans have been responding to this post to share their own opinions on this news. Read the reactions of some Black Cats fans to Copley’s post in the tweets below.

Do you think that Sunderland could convince Mario Gotze to come to The Stadium of Light?

NO

What do we think?

While it looks as though he will be available on a free transfer this summer, it may be unlikely that Gotze, who is valued at £9.45 million (as per Transfermarkt), will go from playing in the UEFA Champions League this season to move to a side currently sitting in seventh place in England’s third tier and it’s unlikely that any of these Sunderland fans genuinely think that their club could lure Gotze to the Stadium of Light.
