A lot of Sheffield Wednesday fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Owls-focused journalist Dom Howson which includes a link to an article from Yorkshire Live which shares the news that Barnsley have sent “a strongly-worded letter” to the EFL which concerns Wednesday.

This news originally surfaced in a report from The Guardian which explains that Barnsley, who currently sit at the bottom of the Championship table, will consider taking legal action with the EFL if they are relegated ahead of other Championship clubs who are “pending punishments from EFL charges” if the 2019/20 season doesn’t resume.

As per The Guardian, both Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County are yet to face “independent disciplinary hearings relating to the controversial sale of their stadiums to owners”. The Tykes believe that they should not be relegated ahead of these clubs as these two clubs have been charged with breaking EFL rules.

Some Owls fans have responded with criticism for Barnsley in response to Howson’s tweet sharing this news. Read the reactions of some Owls fans to this post in the tweets below.

It may be understandable why these Wednesday fans haven’t reacted to this letter very positively, as it raises the possibility of them being relegated due to the case being brought against them by the EFL.
