Sheffield Wednesday-focused Twitter account @Owls_HQ recently posted a tweet asking fans of the club if they think the club should try to sign Alessio Da Cruz “on a permanent deal for next season”.
Da Cruz has featured in six of Wednesday’s eight Championship games since joining the club on loan from Serie A side Parma back in January. The Dutchman has been given an average overall rating of 6.35 from his six league appearances for the Owls thus far according to WhoScored, who have given 22 other Wednesday players a higher average overall rating than Da Cruz in the league this term.
It may be fair to say that WhoScored’s assessment of Da Cruz’s performances for the Owls this term isn’t particularly positive and some Owls fans have also been sharing a negative assessment of Da Cruz and his time at Hillsborough thus far in response to @Owls_HQ’s recent post. Read the reactions of some Wednesday supporters to this post in the tweets below.

What do we think?
According to Transfermarkt, Da Cruz has played in attacking positions in his six performances for Wednesday this term, however, the 23-year-old who Transfermarkt currently value at £1.71m has failed to make a single goal contribution so far. With that in mind, it may be understandable why these Wednesday fans don’t appear to be too keen on the idea of Da Cruz making a permanent move to the club.
