What do we think?
Charlton was manager of Wednesday for over five years, from October 1977 until May 1983, at which point he left the club.
However, in his time in charge of the Owls, Charlton took the club from languishing in the third tier of English football to promotion to the second tier in 1979/80 with a third-place finish in the league.
As such, it is no wonder why many of the Wednesday fans still hold their former manager in such high regard, and why so many appear keen to send him their birthday wishes.
