Image for Leeds United: Fans react to image of retro tracksuit top worn by Neil Aspin

A group of Leeds United fans have been discussing a recent post by @leedshunter on Twitter. The post contains an image of what is claimed to be an Umbro player tracksuit worn by Neil Aspin for a match during his time with the club.

Aspin represented the senior side between 1982 and 1989 (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). Whilst the post doesn’t specify from which season this tracksuit is from, we can deduce that it will have been worn in the mid-to-late 1980s, given that it is thought to have originated during Billy Bremner’s spell in charge at Leeds from between 1985 and 1988.

To kick things off what season is this from?

Here is how some of the Elland Road faithful have responded to the post.

What do we think?

It is clear from the above replies these fans love the retro-style tracksuit top and enjoyed the throwback. Leeds United will be wearing Adidas kits from the 2020/21 season for the first time in their history and it’s a deal by which the value is determined by whether or not the club earn promotion to the Premier League (as per the Daily Mail). Therefore, the supporters will have some brand-new merchandise to select from in the coming months.
