Charlton Athletic-focused journalist Louis Mendez recently posted a tweet that included a link to an article from The Sun which claims that former Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is “ready to buy” the club.

This report comes after the Addicks recently confirmed via their official website that “the club has received notice of a change in ownership at East Street Investments”, which had completed a takeover of Charlton back in January.

As explained by this article from The Sun, Swansea managed to achieve promotion to the Premier League during Jenkins’ time as chairman, and this fact may have gone down well with the Charlton fans who have been responding to this post, as many of them have shared a positive reaction to this alleged news.

Would you like to see Huw Jenkins at The Valley?

YES, HE'S BETTER THAN NIMER

NO, I DON'T WANT HIM

NO, I DON'T WANT HIM

What do we think?

As per the Evening Standard, Charlton’s majority shareholder Tahnoon Nimer has failed to provide source and sufficiency of funding to the EFL since completing a takeover of the club back in January. This has likely led to his decision to part with his stake in the club.

Considering that Jenkins has got experience with running football clubs successfully, he may be a better option than the current regime at The Valley and it may be understandable why many Addicks fans have responded positively to this news.
