Some Charlton Athletic fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Charlton fan Jimmy Stone to share criticism for the EFL and the negative impact that they feel the EFL have had on their club of late.

This criticism comes after the EFL released a statement on 21 May which declared that EFL clubs in all divisions will decide on curtailing the 2019/20 campaign or playing it to a finish when possible, via a vote. Furthermore, this statement from the EFL goes on to explain that in the event of curtailment, final placings in each division will be decided by an unweighted points-per-game model.

With all Championship clubs having played 37 games and with the Addicks sitting just inside the relegation zone at present, this would result in Charlton being relegated from England’s second tier.

Some Charlton fans have also shared criticism for the EFL for allowing Tahnoon Nimer and his ‘East Street Investments’ group to complete a takeover of the club back in January, as the club’s majority shareholder is still yet to “provide source and sufficiency of funding to the EFL”, as per an article that was published by The Evening Standard earlier this month.
