Van Dijk, who is valued at £72 million (as per Transfermarkt), was at Celtic for two seasons before joining Southampton in 2015. He left Southampton for Liverpool in the winter of 2018 (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Celtic fans are clearly in love with Van Dijk and his message, despite the Dutchman having spent only two years at the club. He made 115 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 15 goals as he helped the club win the Premiership title in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 campaigns.
The Celtic fans’ reactions show just how much Van Dijk was appreciated during his time at the club, while his contribution to their run of titles makes the Dutchman fully deserving of the praise he received from the supporters.
