Some Celtic fans have been talking about Scott Sinclair after a post involving the Englishman emerged on social media recently.
Celtic-related page ‘CeltsAreHere’ recently posted about Sinclair on Twitter. The post asked fans where they think Sinclair sits in the pecking order of the club’s former players, including some of the striker’s stats from his time at Parkhead.
On seeing this tweet, many Celtic fans talked about Sinclair. They made it clear that they remember Sinclair’s contributions at Parkhead rather fondly. Some also talked about how his form faded.
Highest scorer of treble treble era
Loved him but faded away too much to be a legend
7/10 career

Would you call Sinclair a Celtic 'legend'
Yes
No, he wasn't
He was a great player for us that couldn’t replicate his form in the following seasons.
Will always be remembered for his contribution. @Scotty_Sinclair ?

Thought he was treated shabbily in the end but nobody knows what goes on behind the scenes.
Still speaks fondly of his time with us. Got the Club. Song was magical .
Petrov maybe. Different type but thinking in terms of status.— jinkysboots1967 (@jinkysboots1967) May 4, 2020
Didn’t play long enough to become a legend. But one of my all time favourites

No better as Shaun Maloney on his day

Stats are fantastic
First 18 months or so he waa superb.
However to my mind, he lacked something. Confidence fragile at times. True grit and heart. Seemed soft to me, when the chips were down— Gazzarinho (@gazzarinho1) May 4, 2020
Had a fantastic season bit like Burley did, then turned into a bit like Samaras, was hot and cold, but on his day a joy to watch?

If Samaras is an icon, then Sinclair 110% is also an icon. Such an underappreciated player. One of the better modern day wingers we’ve had.

Sinclair joined Celtic in the summer of 2016 from Aston Villa until his January departure to Preston North End. Before that, he had spells at Manchester City, Chelsea and Swansea City (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
As a Celtic player, Sinclair made 167 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. He scored 62 goals, while picking up 36 assists for the club (via Transfermarkt).
Sinclair won as many as three Premiership titles (in contributing to last year’s triumph) and was also named as the club’s Player of the Year by the supporters and his teammates in his first season. This shows what an important player he was for the club and it is good to see Celtic fans giving him credit for his contributions at Parkhead.
