Some Celtic fans have slammed Tom English after the journalist recently posted on Twitter.
English quote-tweeted an update from the BBC about SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan, who has urged that football returns in the month of July. English shared this, while asking who MacLennan is, in fact, urging.
On seeing this tweet from English, many Celtic fans rushed to it. They were angry at what he had to say and in the way that he took a swipe at MacLennan.
5 hours to come back with that retort?

Is Tom English running out of excuses?
Yes
No
Take a day off. You add absolutely nothing to Scottish football.

Ask the person who wrote the headline

Ask your bosses Tom, they wrote the headline. Do you not communicate at the BBC these days or just choose not to when it suits.

The BBC quoted MacLennan as saying that Scottish football has to do ‘everything humanly possible’ to make sure that football resumes by the end of July this year. He said that the ‘quicker’ Scottish football resumes, the ‘better’ it will be for the game.
What do we think?
While this tweet from English suggests that he is against the SPFL, many of his tweets in the past have suggested that he indeed has that stance. He recently said that Neil Doncaster has overseen Scottish football going into ‘chaos’. In another tweet, he had criticised Doncaster for not taking questions from members on the BBC Sportsound podcast.
This shows that he has long taken an anti-SPFL stance and much like Celtic’s rivals Rangers, appears to be against the SPFL with regards to the vote that was carried out last month. In that sense, one can see why Celtic fans aren’t too happy with his latest tweet.
