Some Celtic fans have slammed Tom English after a tweet from the BBC journalist caught their attention.
English’s latest tweet concerned SPFL chief Neil Doncaster. He said that Doncaster feels that if Celtic’s Glasgow neighbours paid for an independent inquiry into the recent SPFL vote, their independence would be ‘undermined’. He criticised Doncaster for using the Deloitte report as an ‘example’ of the organisation’s independence.
The Hoops’ Old Firm rivals have said that the club is ‘ready to fund’ an independent investigation into the SPFL resolution. Fellow Premiership club Aberdeen have also said that they will back the Gers and vote in favour of this, among a number of other Scottish clubs.
However, on seeing this tweet from the BBC journalist, many Celtic fans were fuming. They made their displeasure with English very clear.
Doncaster would rip you to shreds desperado

Is Tom English a bad journalist?
Yes, he's poor
I don't think so
Tom, the is getting embarrassing now. We ALL know what this is about. Stopping 9IAR at all costs, even if it destroys Scottish football, and results in a 3rd incarnation at Ibrox.

You are just playing the man and not the ball constantly now Tom… Very poor.

Tom, you are missing an important corporate point. The SPFL is owned by its shareholders (ie the clubs). So if the SPFL pays for an inquiry, the inquiry has a duty of care towards all the clubs, as owners of the SPFL. Rangers are owned by Rangers shareholders. Critical difference

You`re sound like a stuck record Tom. It`s wearing a bit thin? pic.twitter.com/D5zmdOUsif

Tom, Maybe you could head the independent inquiry. After the impartiality you have shown as a bbc journalists on this subject. Nobody better.

This comes after the SPFL had said that the Gers have no ‘evidence’ of the authorities bullying and coercing clubs into issuing their votes to end the lower-league seasons in Scotland.
What do we think?
English’s stance seems to go against the SPFL and favours the Gers. Celtic fans don’t seem pleased by that, since he seems to have an opinion that indirectly goes against them.
But with the situation now escalating because of the independent investigation, Celtic aren’t able to know the fate of their season. The Hoops are currently 13 points clear and this makes them favourites to win the title. Because of that, they would like to see this situation get resolved soon – but the frustration from them seems evidently clear.
