Alexander Ceferin has confirmed that the governing body of European football is not opposed to Celtic being crowned the Scottish champions.

The UEFA chief told BeIN Sports (via the Daily Record): “I think the majority of leagues will finish the season. The ones who will not, it’s their decision.”

The SPFL are due to meet to officially bring an end to the season and it is expected that they will name Celtic as the champions for the ninth consecutive season. It is worth noting, however, that any decision made will need to be ratified by UEFA but judging by Ceferin’s comments, it feels unlikely they will intervene and look to change the decision made by the powers in Scotland.
