AC Milan are said to be ready to step up their efforts to lure Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer to Italy, according to a recent report from Calcio Mercato.
The report claims that although negotiations are yet to take place, there has been some contact with the player’s entourage. It also goes on to say Ajer is ‘ready to leave Scotland’, but that the Rossoneri expect to face competition for the 22-year-old’s signature.
The Norwegian, currently valued at £2.43m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, made 28 appearances for Neil Lennon’s side in the Scottish Premiership this season, starting 93% of their league fixtures – highlighting his importance to the side. So what have a sample of the club’s supporters made of the report?
TBH would he really be much of a loss ? He’s vastly overrated – keeps making the same mistakes. If we get silly money for him I’m sure we could buy somebody better. Your Centre half SHOULD be able to header a ball at least

Another good bit of business for the club if it happens.

TBF is his agent genuinely had been contacted by these clubs, I could see why he said he won’t be at Celtic next season. If we get £25M + for him and he gets a move like that, everyone wins.

He is exceptional taking the ball from the keeper and moving into midfield, does have a wee error in him though

A wee error? the guy isn’t a defender he is absolutely hopeless when tested against even a half decent outfit.

Would you be ok with Kristoffer Ajer being sold this summer?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that most of these supporters wouldn’t be against selling the player if the price was right. According to Calcio Mercato, the competition for his services involves Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Real Madrid, which could spark a bidding war the Celtic fans would very much welcome. However, these Hoops fans are less than convinced the aforementioned clubs are keen on Ajer.
??? have any these teams ever watched him play?

Let’s just sit back and watch not a single offer come in!!!

At the moment there is no concrete offer on the table for the player, but there appears to be some doubt as to whether the defender will be lining up for the Hoops next season.
