Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been left furious after Tim Spiers relayed a Premier League team of the season as voted for by fans.
On Thursday afternoon, the Athletic reporter quote tweeted the @BBCMOTD fans’ team of the season in a clearly disapproving, light-hearted way (per Tim Spiers), which had fans fuming over the team.

How does Fernandes make the team? He’s played a handful of games.

Voted by “fans”.

Should Wolves have been represented in the fans' team of the season? No, no one good enoughYes, should have had one |
While the team was predominantly made up of Manchester City and Liverpool players, and also featured Leicester City’s Çaglar Söyüncü (per @BBCMOTD), the involvement of Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes appeared to rankle the most.
So, after Tim Spiers relayed the tweet to the Molineux faithful, they continued airing their dissatisfaction with Premier League fans’ team of the season.
Just a btec neves really.

Fernandes is ridiculous. Neves should be ahead of him and Neves shouldn’t be in there either. I don’t get the obsession with Alisson either, he’s decent but overrated for me.

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from these Wolves supporters, while fans of the Old Gold felt that a couple of other players should not have featured, it was the involvement of Fernandes that was the most frustrating.
While the Portuguese midfielder’s average rating of 7.82/10 in the Premier League has been stellar, having featured in only five league games (per WhoScored) the selection in the fans’ team of the season does seem incredibly short-sighted.
