Supporters of West Ham United have been reacting to an update regarding a contract offered to the Hammers’ young full-back Jeremy Ngakia.
According to @ExWHUemployee, the Irons have offered a new contract to the 19-year-old defender which he has not signed yet.
However, despite the Englishman not having signed his contract yet, it is believed that the two parties are getting closer to reaching an agreement (via @whufc_news).
In their podcast, @ExWHUemployee went on to state that it is also believed that Ngakia would like to stay at the London Stadium but is being pressured by his agent to secure a good deal.
The latest contract news on the 19-year-old full-back comes after Claret and Hugh reported that he had refused to sign a new contract with the Irons last week.
This then led to the suggestion from the Hammers-based news site that Ngakia would then be walking away from the London Stadium when his contract expires in June (per Claret and Hugh).
However, after the latest update was shared to West Ham supporters on social media (via @whufc_news), fans aired their reactions to the latest development in the contract saga.

It stank of a greedy agent from the start! He should get the remuneration and contract he deserves, but no doubt the agent wants more to improve his own commission.

Despite the continuing discussion over Ngakia’s contract, the defender has made just four Premier League appearances for the Hammers (per WhoScored).
If he finds himself on the bench of a big club his agent would have ended his career before it’s even started.

Over his four appearances for David Moyes’ outfit this season, Ngakia has recorded a 6.6/10 average rating which has made him only the 17th-best performer for West Ham in the league (per WhoScored).
Despite his lowly average rating, though, the 19-year-old has recorded the joint-second-most tackles per league game in West Ham’s squad (3.0) and the fifth-most interceptions per game (1.5) (per WhoScored).
