Many West Ham United supporters have flocked to Twitter to discuss the possibility of the club landing Luka Jovic from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are said to be willing to sell the 22-year-old and according to 90Min, the London-based club and Newcastle United are leading the chase for the striker.

Jovic has been limited to just 15 appearances in La Liga this season and has only been named in Zinedine Zidane’s starting lineup 15% of the time (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). He’s scored two goals this season – in fixtures versus Leganes and more recently against Osasuna – but having failed to make a clear impact at the Bernabeu, he could be on his way this summer, according to the report.

It is also understood that Arsenal are interested in the Serbian’s services and so the Hammers could face plenty of competition if they were to make a move for the player. How have the West Ham supporters responded to the report?

What do we think?

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the forward is currently valued at £28.8m, therefore whoever lands the player may need to make a significant investment. Jovic’s average performance rating in the Spanish top flight this season stands at 6.39/10 (via WhoScored.com), but given he scored 36 goals in 75 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt prior to his most recent move, it’s no wonder there is still much interest in the centre-forward.
