Was Andre Ayew disappointing during his time at the London Stadium? No, he didn't do badlyYes, wasn't good enough |
Ayew joined the Hammers in the summer of 2016 when the London club paid £21.69 million to secure his services from Swansea City (per Transfermarkt). The 30-year-old then left the club a season and a half later as the Swans paid £20.52 million to secure his return to Wales.
So, after @COYIrons_com posed the question to supporters regarding the Ghanaian, lots of fans had their say.
Nothing against the guy but wasn’t a fan of him. Bottled challenges/headers, didn’t give 100% very often, seemed to sulk at times and ultimately, I didn’t think he was very good. I couldn’t believe we got £18m back on him!

huge disappointment. At times I felt like he was not giving 100 pct, although he came up with the occassional big goal.

What do we think?
As can be seen in these responses from West Ham supporters, many believe that Ayew was a big disappointment during his time at the London Stadium.
Having bagged 12 goals and five assists in 50 appearances (per Transfermarkt), it seems that the forward did not do too badly, however, you can see why he may have fallen below fans’ expectations.
