Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing former defender Paul Stalteri.
A Spursy Podcast prompted a discussion on the Canadian right-back on Twitter by asking fans for their thoughts on the former Spurs man. The North London club signed the now-42-year-old from Werder Bremen and he spent three and a half years with the Lilywhites before leaving to join Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer in January 2009 (per Transfermarkt).
During his time with Spurs, the right-back would make 55 appearances for the club; contributing three goals (per Transfermarkt). As the tweet suggests, the defender is perhaps best known for his winning goal in the dramatic 4-3 win against West Ham back in 2007.
Is Stalteri a legend simply because of his goal against West Ham?

He was genuinely a very poor player, but we all love him for one moment & rightly so!

Most of these Spurs fans seem to agree that although he wasn’t the best player, he will always be fondly remembered for his goal against the Hammers.
What do we think?
It goes to show that no matter how well you play for a club, if you can create an iconic moment like Stalteri did when he scored the winner at Upton Park, fans will still praise you in the future.
