Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest news on the potential naming rights for their stadium.
The Daily Mail (via The Spurs Web) has suggested that Spurs have been attempting to sell the naming rights for the new stadium for the past five years, but any interested companies have been put off by Daniel Levy’s reported £25 million-a-year asking price.
The report suggests that Levy is also concerned that the Premier League’s reported plan to resume the season at neutral venues could harm his chances of securing naming rights for the £1 billion stadium which Spurs officially moved into in April last year. With Spurs’ stadium in a densely populated area of North London, it is unlikely that their stadium would be one of the stadiums selected as a neutral venue, meaning that any potential sponsors would not receive TV exposure (per the Daily Mail).
Do you think Levy will have to lower his asking price?
Yes
No

Again Levy not getting a deal done. This guy is so out of touch with reality. Its embarrassing. We desperately need new owners to help move us to the next level. Winning the league cup every 10+ years ??? The only thing that gives me hope is what is happening with Newcastle. COYS

One Spurs fan even urged Amazon owner Jeff Bezos to provide naming rights for the stadium, perhaps due to Amazon currently filming an ‘All or Nothing’ series with the North London club. Others simply slated Levy for his apparent failure to sort a deal.
What do we think?
It is hard to see any companies willing to pay Levy’s reported asking price in the current economic climate, so he may have to lower his demands if he wants to secure naming rights for the stadium in the near future.
