Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing former midfielder Paulinho.
A Spursy Podcast prompted a discussion amongst Spurs fans on the Brazilian, which has attracted the attention of plenty of Lilywhites supporters on Twitter. The North London club signed the midfielder from Corinthians in 2013 and he went on to make 67 appearances for the club, contributing 10 goals and seven assists (per Transfermarkt).
The Brazilian international then left the club to join Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande in 2015, before joining Barcelona in 2017 and then returning to the Chinese side permanently in January 2019 after a loan that started in July 2018 was turned permanent. (per Transfermarkt).
Was Paulinho a decent player for Spurs?
Yes, he wasn't that bad
No, he was awful
A sample of tweets from Spurs fans discussing Paulinho and his time with the North London club can be seen below.

All I remember of this bloke is bottling a challenge v Newcastle which lead to their winner and ducking whilst in the wall for a free kick that sailed in.
A complete waste of money— Felon82 (@Felon82) May 12, 2020
These Spurs fans clearly don’t seem to rate Paulinho following his time with the club.
What do we think?
Whilst Paulinho’s record with Spurs wasn’t the best, he went on to play 49 times for Barcelona which suggests that he certainly can’t have been the worst footballer in the world and perhaps he just joined Spurs at the wrong time.
