Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the reported news that Daniel Levy is determined to keep Tanguy Ndombele this summer.
According to Football Insider (via The Spurs Web), Levy feels that the 23-year-old has the potential to go on to become a Premier League great, despite his disappointing debut season in England. Spurs signed the Frenchman from Lyon last summer in a club-record deal, but regular fitness issues have proved to be a problem throughout the campaign, with the young midfielder having completed 90 minutes just five times in all competitions so far this season.
Despite his disappointing first season, the former Lyon man has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks but based on this latest report from Football Insider, it doesn’t look as if he will be going anywhere this summer.
Do you think Ndombele can become a Premier League great?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest news on Ndombele can be seen in the tweets below.
Ndombele will have had time to reflect on his start in the PL during lockdown. Hopefully Mourinho has got into his head. Fitness-wise he will be on par with every other player in the PL. If he doesn’t come back and show us what he’s made of then sell him and re-coup the money.

Should be the manager who makes these decisions. Not that weasel levy.

I agree with Daniel Levy… I feel dirty

His potential has never been in question. It’s his effort and fitness which have been his biggest downfall which is more worrying.

Trust me he was a steal , gonna be top player

Still young. And definitely not the first player to come to PL and not be consistent in first season ( or 2/3 of the season). Can’t speak on injuries, but I’d like to see how he improves in his second season. ( which hopefully begins this calendar year )

These Spurs fans seem to agree that the club should keep hold of Ndombele this summer.
What do we think?
Hopefully for Spurs fans, Ndombele will have used the current Premier League suspension to work on his fitness and injury issues so that he can be a real force in their side by the time the season resumes.
