Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Erik Lamela and his potential future with the North London club.
Spurs fan Eashan posted a picture of the Argentinian international, suggesting that he deserves a new contract with the Lilywhites. This has subsequently attracted the attention of plenty of supporters of the North London club on Twitter, many of whom were quick to share their opinions on the injury-prone winger.
Since signing from Roma in 2013, the 28-year-old has gone on to make 214 appearances for the Lilywhites, contributing 33 goals and 47 assists (per Transfermarkt). So far this season, the Argentine has made 17 appearances in the top-flight, averaging a disappointing 6.68 rating for his performances (per WhoScored).

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t too keen on Lamela and feel he should be moved on in the near future.
What do we think?
Lamela’s current contract is set to run until 2022, so it seems unlikely that he will be signing a new deal in the near future, however, Jose Mourinho has praised the Argentinian’s attitude this season, so perhaps we will see him remain a Spurs player for the time being, despite these fans clearly not rating him.
